Shelby
Shelby went to the vet today for her last 2 shots and exam. She is scheduled for spay, rear dew removal and microchip implant on March 23. Is it possible for you to send me the necessary handle by the 23rd so the vet can implant her new chip? I will then return it to you the next day.
Just some information:
Shelby is 4 months old today and weighs 29 pounds. She gained 11 pounds in one month since her last vet visit which just amazes me because she really does not eat very much. I have her on Iams Smart puppy food for large breeds, and at the most, she eats 1.5 cups per day. She is very long and thin with VERY LARGE PAWS. She is one very strong puppy! She now has 5 adult teeth in the front. Can't wait for the piranha puppy teeth to be replaced by larger, less sharp adult teeth. Shelby is amazingly smart! She was very easily taught to sit, speak, shake (both paws), lie down, stay and roll over. It took her a while to go up and down the steps to the bedrooms. Once we showed her how to, she mastered it instantly. Now she goes all over the house!!! For the most part, Shelby is completely housebroken. Every now and then, she has an accident, but not very often. She is very friendly and loves everyone and everything. Get out of the way when her tail is wagging because it hurts and it will knock you over. She is just an amazing animal!!! We are still trying to figure out what she is mixed with. She has lots of extra skin and does have a cute howl to her bark. I am fairly confident that she has some hound in her, which just adds to her uniqueness. Her color is changing too. She is getting much darker and the Shepard is starting to come out. We absolutely love her. She has been a great addition to our family. I will send some pictures once she fully awakes for the afternoon. She is sleeping in her chair at this moment, snoring away!
Thank you once again for allowing Shelby to come into our home. She has truly been a Godsend!!!
Cinda
We adopted a puppy from your shelter last november by the name of Cinda. She is a lab/beagle mix. We got her from you shelter after we had to unexpectedly put on our other dog to sleep due to seizure disorder. Our son at the time was only four and was absolutely heart broken. We found Cinda on petfinder.com. Her picture blew us away. She was a dead ringer for our weibles. We came to see and our son instantly fell in love with as did we. We pick Cinda up right befor thanksgiving of '08. Needless to say, she has been a joy for us and our son. She even got to celebrate her first birthday with our new addition. She has become his befriend also. She is always watching out for both boys. She has a bounty full of energy that is perfect for them. We thank you for healing our broken hearts. I have attached two pictures of Cinda of how she is today.
Sebastian
Was happy to get your e-mail. This is about Sebastian (TY). He is doing great!! He will be 2 yrs. old on June 28th and he weighs 60lbs. Adopting him from you was the best thing. He listens very well. He love's to run in the yard and chase his ball. I taught him when time for bed to get his blanket and he carries it down the hall to the bedroom and jumps up in bed(which he takes up half of). He is just plain spoiled. I just want to thank you again so much for rescuing him and giving us the chance to raise him like our own child.
Thank You
Daisy
I wanted to give you a quick update on Daisy (formerly Samantha). This week we went to the vet for a couple more puppy shots and to get all our heartworm and flea medications, things went well. Dr, O'Connor said Daisy looks great, and has a great temperament. She is growing like a weed and has put on almost 5 lbs. since we brought her home. We also have been working on basic commands; sit, lay down, paw, and stay...treats are the way to her brain. I had tried to send some photos of Daisy enjoying the sunshine...they didn't go through. I have re sized them and will give it another go...thanks again! We'll keep you posted!
P.S.- My Mother, Sister, and I write a blog during the day...I wrote a quick bit about our new addition Daisy and listed a link to your rescue site...hope you don't mind.
Warm regards
Roscoe
Hello~
My husband and I adopted Roscoe from It's a Ruff Life Rescue in December, 2008. At that point in time, he had been living with Jill for 3 months. I just wanted to send some new pictures of Roscoe and tell you all how grateful we are that he was rescued from the puppy mill. He has been such an enormous joy in our lives.
When we first got Roscoe, he wasn't house broken, he couldn't get up the stairs and he didn't know how to walk on a leash. Within 2 weeks he was completely house broken. We bought him some toys, but he didn't understand what they were and he had no interest. Now, he has a favorite toy, a stuffed lamb we affectionately named "Lambey", that he never puts down. We've taught him to "sit", "give paw" & "sit pretty" on his hind legs. He has learned so much and, despite all he's been through, is a terrific and loving dog. We've attached some photos so you can see how he's changed.
Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do~
