Maisy
Hello,
Our family just celebrated Maisy's second birthday on June 8, 2009; she
gobbled up the "cake" we made for her, after our youngest daughter blew
out the two candles for her. She is pictured on your Web site in the
Photo Gallery, under her original puppy name, "Faith." Her mom is
there, too ("Hope"), whom she resembles exactly; and also her cute
siblings. I'm sure they're all wonderful pets, just as Maisy is. We are
blessed to have found her through It's a Ruff Life, and we have given
her a loving home. In return, she gives us non-stop affection, loyalty,
companionship, and fun!
I'm sending a donation to It's a RUFF LIFE Rescue, in honor of Maisy's
birthday. Thank you, It's a Ruff Life.
Chippee
We adopted Chippee from you over a year ago (she was a boston rat terrier mix). We love her. She has loads of personality and has been a great addition to our family.
Thank you so much for bringing her into our lives
Shiloh
We adopted Shiloh December 7, 2007 and we've had an angel living with us ever since. Shiloh was abandoned, tied with another dog (Kelly, a Jack Russell terrier) in your yard. She was very leery of letting people get too close to her. She would sometimes let out an odd scream if someone would touch her in a way that made her nervous. But her loving nature was evident from the beginning and even though she was timid you could tell that she loved to be near people.
She and I spent her first night with us in a sleeping bag on the floor. She curled herself against me and slept soundly all night. She's been my best friend ever since. She has learned to trust people more and is less fearful in general. She has big brown eyes that look at you and seem to understand what you are feeling. At times she can seem so serious and sad and other times like when she is zooming around outside or playing hockey with her food she looks like she will just burst with joy. She has so many human-like characteristics that it is hard for us to remember sometimes that she is a dog. Usually until she reminds us of that herself by doing something that's pure dog. For example, after moving to the country we discovered that she liked rolling in other animal's poop. It's a good thing that she is small and easy to bathe.
If such a thing as soul-mates does exist then Shiloh must be mine. My heart melts every time I look at her and I love every minute I spend with her. Thank you Jill for taking care of her until we were able to find her. I would love to hear how Kelly is doing, we always felt bad that we didn't adopt her too. I hope that she is loved as much as Shiloh.
Lexie
Just wanted to take a minute and update you on Lexie. She is just AWESOME! The big dogs taught her to bark, and now she joins right in with them when someone comes to the house. It's the cutest thing! She has her own bed, but sleeps with me, and every night somehow she ends up with my pillow, and I end up with NO pillow!
She is just so excited when I come home from work! She runs 100 miles an hour around the kitchen! It is so funny to see that you will laugh so hard that tears come to your eyes!
With the nice weather the boys have been riding their bikes. Lexie follows them at their back wheels barking at them the entire time! She will pick up socks that they leave on the floor and run with them thru the livingroom! She is so funny!
She has also learned about treats- she loves them! When I wake the boys, she jumps on them and licks their faces, then when they eat breakfast, she stands on her back legs at their chair and jumps or takes her paws like she is boxing! She has gained weight, and eats very well. She loves to ride in the car- Jenn takes her EVERYWERE! (Don't worry, she has a few coats to wear!)
We can't thank you enough! I tell her how happy I am that she is here every day! We just love her!
I hope that you and your family are doing well during these tuff times. I will keep you updated on Lexie.
Thank You again!!
Prince
Just a little note to say thank-you for rescuing Prince. He is a wonderful dog. We love our Prince. I am so amazed of
how good he is when I leave the house and come back to find that nothing was touched in the house. He is very good on his walks,
and he takes two 45 minute walks per day, a walk around 11:00 a.m. and one at 6:30 P.M. Everyone comments on how beautiful he is,
and ask where I got Prince from. I give them your website. The children in the neighborhood have all petted Prince. He loves the
attention. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful friend and protector. In the afternoon, I sometimes take a nap on the
living room couch, and Prince will lay down on the living rug next to me.
Prince loves his treats, he has treats several times a day. He is well-behaved.
We have kept him on the same dog food and he gets l-l/2 cups at 9 a.m. and l-l/2 cups at 5 p.m. Prince has adjusted extremely well
with his new daily routine.
Prince has several toys, he likes the ball. We are trying to teach him to fetch and retrieve the ball. It's a sheepskin
spongeball, and sometimes it will squeek, and then Prince will put it down when it squeeks. He just looks at it, then walks away
from it. We are having alot of fun playing with Prince. He is so funny to watch. Prince goes to bed when we go to bed. He
sleeps on Fred's Orthopedic bed on the floor next to the bed. He stays in the room with us, until morning. At l0:30 p.m.,before
bedtime, Prince will go outside to pee. He has never had an accident in the house. He is so exceptional, we are truly lucky to
have him.
